Troubleshooting
Error codes, empty replies, blocked targets, slow responses and the status page.
- Proxy error codes explainedWhen the residential or mobile gateway cannot serve a request, it answers with one of nine codes instead of the page, and nothing is charged. Two of them mean "fix your request", two mean "your account needs an action", the rest mean "retry". ISP and datacenter proxies never answer with a code: they close the connection instead (see the empty-reply article).
- "Empty reply from server" on ISP and datacenter proxiescurl: (52) Empty reply from server is how a static proxy says no. A wrong password, a blocked port and a restricted target all end the same way, with the connection closed and no error code, and that is deliberate: a proxy that answers 407 or 403 tells scanners it is a proxy and gets the IP flagged on the sites you bought it for.
